Cheryll & Lee

A healthier future for our children and grandchildren

Video Poster

Cheryll and Lee, Future of Medicine members from Houston, share why they were motivated to participate in Care Access’s free community health screening at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Cheryll had been trying to get her A1c checked for a while and jumped at the chance when she saw the opportunity. Lee joined in, recognizing the importance of learning more about lesser-known health markers like Lp(a).

“It just helps to know more about these things and get the word out so people understand their health,” Cheryll says. “Clinical research is important because it’s how we learn to treat these problems.” Both hope that future medical advancements will benefit their children and grandchildren, citing the progress made with COVID and HIV treatments as examples of how research makes a difference.
