Care Access and Walmart Collaborate to Create Access to Clinical Research

BOSTON – Care Access and the Walmart Healthcare Research Institute will open clinical research sites in three Walmart Health locations and one rural Walmart store. At these locations, Care Access will provide clinical research opportunities as well as advanced health screenings and educational information about research.

By bringing Phase 2, 3, and 4 clinical research studies directly to communities, this collaboration aims to reduce barriers to participation that often delay the development of new treatments and cures.

“Clinical research should feel practical and approachable, not distant or intimidating,” said Emily Aaronson, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer, Walmart, “especially for communities that have had difficulty participating in opportunities for innovative treatments.”

“We are excited to collaborate with Walmart to improve access to clinical research opportunities,” added Ahmad Namvargolian, CEO & Co-Founder, Care Access, “and work together to help improve the future of health for all.”

Research sites from this collaboration are scheduled to open in Spring 2026.
