Care for Friends Guidelines & FAQs

What is the Care for Friends Referral Program?

Care for Friends is a referral program for individuals interested in spreading both awareness and the opportunity for others to participate in clinical studies.

What is a Care for Friends Ambassador?

A Care for Friends Ambassador is someone who signed up for the Care for Friends Referral Program and believes in the value of clinical research and health screenings. They also refer friends, family, acquaintances, or followers to Care Access studies or screening programs to participate in.

How can I participate?

Step 1 - Share your email address on careforfriends.com to get your personalized link emailed to you.

Step 2 - Share your referral link with friends, family, or community members.

Who is a “qualified referral”?

A qualified referral is defined as a referred patient(s) who completes the following:

  1. Clicks on an active referral link
  2. Is new to Care Access (i.e. has never participated in a study)
  3. Provides Informed Consent to participate in a qualifying study or health screening

Can I check to see which of my friends, family, or acquaintances have signed the study informed consent form?

Privacy is very important to us and thus you will not be able to see who specifically signed up for a clinical research study or health screening. However, you can track your referral progress and rewards by logging into your Ambassador portal. Visit: careaccess.getambassador.com/login

No personal information of the referral will be shared with the referring Care for Friends Ambassador. Referrers are made aware if and when one of their referred friends and family qualify (by providing Informed Consent to participate in a research study or health screening), but are not provided with information about which referred individual is participating, or in which research study or health screening.

Are there other benefits to being an ambassador?

Yes! For every “qualified referral” you have the opportunity to donate $25. You can choose to donate these funds to a variety of non-profit charitable organizations. Once the individual you’ve referred completes informed consent in a participating study you will receive an email with directions on how to donate your rewards.

Are you taking taxes out of these funds?

No, we will not be taxing these funds. However, if you earn over $599 in a year we are required by law to send you a tax form 1099 so that you may file it with your taxes. Please consult your tax advisor on how this may impact your taxes.

Who can I refer?

Individuals that have never previously participated in a Care Access clinical research study or health screening. However, patient-facing Care Access employees and contractors are not eligible to participate as a referral.

Who can be an Ambassador?

Due to the tax implications, to be an ambassador we require that you are 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in your state.

Is there an email contact?

Yes, please send an email to friends@careaccess.com
