What does a Community Ambassador do?

As a Community Ambassador, you'll:

  • Identify locations, events, or organizations that could benefit from health screenings
  • Assist with coordinating health screening events
  • Share your referral link with friends, family, and community members for health screenings and clinical trial opportunities

When organizing health screenings, you'll work with a dedicated Care Access Community Engagement team member to make it happen.

Note: A Community Ambassador is not an employment opportunity with Care Access, but it does give you a unique opportunity to help connect your community to health screenings and research.

Tell us about your community

Tell us about places, organizations, or events that could benefit from health screenings. Once you submit, we'll review your suggestions and reach out if it's a fit.

Hear from an Ambassador

"I'm so happy that I decided to link up with Care Access knowing that it is truly, truly affecting the community in a positive way. If you are considering becoming an ambassador, I say do it. It is a no-brainer."

How to Succeed

  • Share personally. Use your referral link only with people in your immediate community. Please don’t post in open or public forums (e.g., Reddit, Indeed, etc.).
  • Encourage (don't force) sign-ups. Referrals must register through your unique link on their own and decide for themselves if participation is right for them.
  • Use approved event promotion materials. We’ll share flyers and materials to help promote events. Please don’t create custom or self-branded materials that suggest that you work for Care Access.

Impact and Earn

Meet event goals and earn up to $250 per event, plus up to $150 for on-site support, for your role in bringing health screenings to your community. Earn a $25 reward for each qualified referral. Terms and conditions apply.

Our Work

Care Access works around the world to make the future of health better for all. We help people learn more about their health, access health resources they need, and participate in research to help find new medicines and cures.

Community Ambassador FAQs

What is the Care for Friends Referral Program?

Care for Friends is a referral program for individuals interested in spreading both awareness and the opportunity for others to participate in clinical trials or health screenings.

What is a Community Ambassador?

A Community Ambassador helps connect Care Access to trusted places like churches, schools, or community events. Ambassadors share their referral link and help coordinate local health screening opportunities, and earn rewards while doing so.

What do Community Ambassadors do?

Ambassadors identify places that could benefit from health screenings, help coordinate outreach, and share their referral link with community members.

Do Community Ambassadors work with Care Access directly?

No, this is not an employment opportunity. But as volunteers, Ambassadors are connected with a liaison: a Community Engagement Team member will support planning, outreach, and next steps.

Do I need special healthcare experience to be a Community Ambassador?

No. You don’t need medical training. You simply share your link, help connect local organizations, and Care Access handle the clinical details through our full-time employees.

Is there a cost to join?

No. It's completely free to join and participate.

What is a referral link and who can I share it with?

A referral link is a personal link that tracks who the Community Ambassador shares health screenings and clinical trial opportunities with. It can be shared with friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone who is new to Care Access. To count as a referral, they must click your link to register before completing completing their screening visit.

How do I sign up to become a Community Ambassador?

Submit an interest form. If it’s a good fit, a Care Access team member will contact you to discuss next steps. You can also ask onsite staff at a health screening event or connect with a Community Engagement Partner in your community for more information.

What are the terms and conditions of the Care for Friends program?

Full program rules, eligibility details, and payout guidelines are listed in the official Community Ambassador Agreement. We recommend reviewing them before sharing your referral link so you understand the requirements, limits, and policies for participation. Please note: This is not an employment opportunity with Care Access.

Can Community Ambassadors use their own marketing materials to promote upcoming events?

No. Ambassadors should not create their own marketing materials. Care Access will provide a specialized flyer for each health screening you help host or coordinate. These flyers include event details and your referral link, are approved by an institutional review board (IRB) where ethics rules require, and must remain unchanged. Do not create or modify your own materials—contact your Care Access team if you need additional support.

Are you taking taxes out of my referral rewards?

No, we will not be taxing these funds. You are responsible for appropriately reporting your income. However, if you earn $2,000 in a year, we are required by law to send you a tax form 1099 so that you may file it with your taxes. To do so, we will ask for a completed W9 to be provided. Please consult your tax advisor on how this may impact your taxes.
