Tips for Successful Referrals

Share personally. Use your referral link only with people you know. Please do not post in open or public forums (e.g., Reddit, Indeed, etc.).
Share as yourself. You're helping spread the word, not representing Care Access as an employee.
Encourage (don't force) sign-ups. Referrals must register through your unique link on their own and decide for themselves if participation is right for them.
Your referral link does the explaining. Share it by text, email, or on social media. Please don't create custom or Care Access–branded marketing materials.

What is the Care for Friends Referral Program?

Care for Friends is a community-powered referral program that helps the people you care about access free health screenings and clinical trials. Share these opportunities and earn rewards along the way.

What is a Care for Friends Champion?

Someone who signed up for the Care for Friends referral program and believes in the value of clinical research. A community driven person who is interested in sharing health screenings and clinical research opportunities with their community by sharing a referral link.

Who can be a Care for Friends Champion?

Anyone age 18 or older who is legally allowed to work in their state can join. This is important because rewards are taxable income and must be reported correctly.

How can I participate?

Step 1 - Register your email address on careforfriends.com to get your personalized referral link emailed to you.

Step 2 - Share your referral link with friends, family, or community members.

Who can I refer?

You can refer anyone who:
- Has never participated in a Care Access study before
- Meets eligibility for the health screening or research opportunity
Care Access patient-facing employees and contractors cannot be referred.
Referrals can be family, friends, neighbors, or anyone in your community.

What qualifies a referral for the $25 reward?

A referral qualifies for the $25 reward once the referred patient meets the following criteria:

Clicks on an active referral link
Is new to Care Access (has never participated in a study)
Provides informed consent to participate in a qualifying study or program
Attends their appointment and completes the health screening

Once these steps are completed, the screening is considered complete and the referral is qualified for the $25 reward.

What happens after the referred person completes their health screening and/or participates in a clinical study?

Care Access verifies that an active referral link was used for all patients. When confirmed, rewards are distributed within 30 business days to the Care for Friends Champion.

Can I check to see which of my friends, family, or acquaintances have completed a screening?

No. Privacy is very important to us and thus you will not be able to see who specifically signed up to complete a health screening or participate in a clinical study.

No personal information of the referral will be shared with the referring Care for Friends Champion.

Are there other benefits to being a Care for Friends Champion?

Yes! For each qualified referral, you will earn $25. You can earn up to $10,000 (or 400 referrals) by being a part of Care for Friends. Once the individual you’ve referred completes a health screening or participates in a study or program, you will receive an email with directions on how to retrieve your rewards.

Is the referral reward the same as the stipend provided to patients?

No. These are two separate programs:

Care for Friends reward: $25 for each referral who registers through your link and completes a health screening.
Patient stipend: A separate payment patients may receive for completing an eligible study or screening to help cover the time and travel involved.

It's possible for someone to receive both. For example, you could complete a health screening yourself (and receive the stipend) and also refer others (earning referral rewards).

How are rewards delivered?

Rewards are issued as a digital Visa gift card and sent to the email address you used to sign up. Redemption instructions are included in the reward email. The card works like a debit card—you can spend up to the available balance. If your purchase exceeds the balance, the card may decline unless the merchant allows split payments.

How can I check the balance on my digital gift card?

You can check your digital gift card balance at MyPrepaidCenter.com.

If you've already redeemed your card:

Log in to your profile to view your current balance. If you forgot your login information, use the Forgot Password option.

If you haven't redeemed your card yet:

Search your inbox for the email titled "Your Virtual Prepaid Card." It includes a link to view your card details and balance.

What should I do if I lose my reward gift card?

If you haven't redeemed your card yet:

Contact [email protected] to have your gift card reset.

If you've already activated the card or used part of it:

You can retrieve your card and remaining balance at myprepaidcenter.com/get-rl using the email address you signed up with.

Are you taking taxes out of my referral rewards?

No, we will not be taxing these funds. However, if you earn $2,000 in a year, we are required by law to send you a tax form 1099 so that you may file it with your taxes. To do so, we will ask for a completed W9 to be provided. Please consult your tax advisor on how this may impact your taxes.

What are the terms and conditions of the Care for Friends program?
